Pupils to take part in maths contest
MATHS whizzes will be pitting their wits against each other at a competition.
Youngsters from schools across South Essex will be competing in the Maths marathon.
Taking place at the Wickford Curriculum Development Centre in Alderney Gardens, Wickford year nine students from 10 schools will be locking intellectual horns at the first ever Mathematics Champions' Cup.
Schools taking part include: Sweyne Park School and Fitzwimarc in Rayleigh; De La Salle School, Barstable and James Hornsby in Basildon; Greensward College, Hockley; Castle View and Furtherwick Park schools in Canvey; and the Brentwood Ursuline Convent High School.
The competition takes place on Tuesday May 13.
