A teenager has secured a scholarship mwith Essex University’s Edge Hotel School.
Chris Holdys was awarded a £3,000 scholarship from the Savoy Educational Trust, as he begins a degree in hotel management at the school, run at Wivenhoe House, which is the first hotel school to be established in the UK.
Chris, of Hertford Heath, says: “The Edge Hotel School degree is the perfect mix of hands-on, practical learning and theory. I’m excited to kick-start my career in such a professional environment.”
Chief executive of the Savoy Educational Trust, MBE Julia Sibley says: “People learn in many different ways and everyone should have the opportunity to maximise their potential.
“The methods of ‘learning by doing’ at the Edge Hotel School are an excellent way of equipping young people with the skills they need to become the hotel managers of the future.”
