School labelled as "outstanding"

STAFF and pupils at a village primary school have been praised by inspectors.

Bentley St Paul's school, in Ashwells Road, Pilgrims Hatch, has been given a rating of "outstanding" by Ofsted following an inspection earlier this year.

Inspectors gave particular praise for the way that pupils from all backgrounds are treated equally, and the "exceptionally and consistently high" achievements of pupils in key subjects by the time they leave in Year 6.

A report published this week by Paul Cosway, lead inspector, said: "The school fulfils its mission to be a place where all children are treated as special. It is a very inclusive school, in which all are helped to make excellent progress, no matter what their background or abilities.

"Much of the teaching is outstanding. This leads to pupils genuinely enjoying their lessons."
