A PEDESTRIAN has been killed after being hit by a van outside Brentwood train station.
The van driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, with Kings Road remaining closed until 11am while investigations were carried out.
Police were called to the incident just before 6am on Thursday after a van had hit a male pedestrian, causing fatal injuries.
The man, who was in his forties and from the Brentwood area, was taken to Queens Hospital in Romford where he died shortly after arrival.
The driver of the van, also a man in his forties from the Brentwood area, was arrested.
Police are appealing for information and ask any witnesses to call PC Dawn Senior at the Essex Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
