Hear baroque at church

BAROQUE musicians will join a choir to perform songs played in Italy during the Renaissance period.

The Stondon Singers are hosting the concert called Choral Masterpieces from Venice at the Priory Church of St Laurence, in Church Street, Blackmore, on Saturday (March 9).

They will be accompanied by The Meridian Sinfonia, a group of professional musicians who play baroque instruments.

Music from composers such as Vivaldi, Monteverdi and Cavalli will be performed on the night which starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets which can be purchased beforehand by visiting James Dace & Son, Broomfield Road, Chelmsford, or the Post Office in Blackmore, cost £14 for adults and £8 for under-16s.

People interested in going to the concert can also buy tickets on the door.
