CANDIDATES who will be part of a recently formed group’s first election campaign have been unveiled.
Brentwood First announced their first four candidates for the Brentwood Council elections set for next May with Nigel Clarke, Ian Edmonds, John Barnes and Richard Brown set to stand.
Mr Clarke will fight for the Brentwood West seat he currently occupies while Mr Edmonds will go for Brentwood North, Mr Barnes for Hutton East and Mr Brown for Hutton South.
The party officially formed in February after a quartet of councillors resigned from the Conservatives with leader William Lloyd saying he was delighted with the “excellent” candidates.
Mr Lloyd said: “Finding individuals who care passionately about their community and want to play an active role in improving our Borough is our key priority as we plan ahead for next year.
“With no party political whip our candidates will be best placed to stand up and fight for their local communities on local issues and not be curtailed by the trappings of the established political parties.”
