A COMMUTER has been fined £600 after a road rage incident involving another train passenger.

Andrew Vincent pleaded guilty at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court last week to using threatening and abusive words or behaviour towards Jennifer Green at Ingatestone railway station.

On May 14, Vincent, 46, of Keene Way, Galleywood, shouted at Miss Green and threatened to punch her after the pair were nearly involved in a crash as they drove into the station’s car park.

At about 8am on the day of the incident, Miss Green pulled into the car park and nearly collided with Vincent’s car.

After parking, Vincent, who works in London as an HR officer, walked over to the victim’s car, banged on the bonnet and swore at her.

When Miss Green stepped out of her car, Vincent said he was going to hit her.

Peter Butterfield, the defendant’s solicitor, said his client denies threatening to hit Miss Green, but did accept his behaviour was not correct.

Mr Butterfield said: “He knows his behaviour was aggressive and he is ashamed and embarrassed by the incident.

“He got on the train thinking very little of it as he thought it was just a little disagreement which may have gone a bit too far.”

Alongside the £600 fine, Vincent was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £60.
