New look website boosts council
7:00am Sunday 6th October 2013 in News
THE WEBSITE of Brentwood Council has been modernised to allow round the clock access to services.
It is hoped the website will allow residents who do not have time during the day to visit Town Hall to get hold of information, pay bills or report issues to the authority.
Savings of £250,000 per year from 2014/15 are set to be made from the changes which include responsive design features for smart phones and tablets.
Council leader Louise McKinlay said: “This is a keystone in our moves to modernise the council and improve customer experience whilst saving money.
“We know a large proportion of our hard working families don’t have the time to come and visit us and like to use new media.
“They simply want to do things like find key information on planning applications or pay their council tax online.
“This new, modern website helps residents to find the task they require more easily and has new features that work much better on mobile phones and tablets.”
