AN A-LIST celebrity is personally thanking donators to a buy-a-seat scheme at Brentwood Theatre.

Stephen Moyer, 44, who stars in True Blood a vampire TV show on the Fox channel, is a patron of the venue in Shenfield Road and has signed a certificate which will be given to anyone who gives £100 to the project.

A signed copy of Red Magazine featuring an interview with Moyer, who grew up in Brentwood, is also being auctioned off to help raise funds for the plans.

The theatre needs £35,000 for the project, which launched earlier this month, to happen. It will see the venue’s capacity increased from 94 to 118 seats.

The redesign will also see more comfortable seats brought in which are retractable and have improved sight lines for audience members.

Mark Reed, the theatre’s administrator, said it was great to get the support from Moyer who before becoming a professional performed on the stage at the theatre.

Mr Reed said: “'We barely get to see Steve, such is his busy schedule, but his lovely mum Jean asked him to sign this magazine.

“In addition, with him signing each of the 118 certificates when he gets a chance, his backing to our campaign is amazing.

“We are very grateful for all of the donations received, it is very kind. It would be lovely to install these seats in 2014 to provide the extra comfort and the increased seating capacity that will make coming to Brentwood Theatre an even greater night out.”
