A LOW alcohol ale produced by a Brentwood firm has won a prize at a national beer festival.
BBC2 which is made by the Brentwood Brewing Company was crowned the Champion Beer of Belfast at the Belfast Beer and Cider Festival.
The drink with an alcohol level of 2.5 per cent beat off five other contenders from around the UK to take home the title after proving to be popular with festival goers.
Adrian Saunders, festival organiser, said: "BBC2 appeals to a wide range of people and it sold really well.
“The comment we kept hearing was 'how do they produce such a good beer at that ABV?'
“It was so popular that we sold out of all 18 gallons on the first day."
