DINERS at a curry evening in Kelvedon Hatch raised £900 for a carers charity.

Restaurant Bongow Indian in Swan Lane hosted the fundraising night for Crossroads Care’s Brentwood, Basildon and Districts branch.

The charity provide help to people who act as a full time carer for a relative.

More than 50 diners tucked into dishes during the event organised by estate agents House Sale based in Kings Road, Brentwood.

Money from the evening will go to a fund set up aiming to raise £10,000 to reopen an after school club which closed in October at The Endeavour School in Hogarth Avenue.
