REFURBISHMENT work for a derelict community centre is set to start in the new year.
The Hutton Community Centre, in Harrison Close, will be renovated by building firm Novus Property with workers going on site in January.
It is expected the project which includes repairs to the front entrance, new toilets and the creation of a cafe area will be completed by April.
Council leader Louise McKinlay said: "Hutton Community Centre is a much-needed facility and we have had strong support from residents who want to see this brought back to use.
“I am pleased we can now make that happen and see this derelict centre restored and once again become a thriving focus of the community."
