Arrest after woman tries to steal £1,000 worth of items
A WOMAN was arrested in Brentwood on Thursday after she attempted to steal £1,000 worth of trainers, clothing and booze.
Police were alerted at about 12.20pm by Brentwood Council CCTV operators after shop workers at the Baytree Shopping Centre had spotted the female acting suspiciously.
The 34-year-old female from Brentwood was arrested in the High Street with a large haul of items found on her.
She has been bailed by police until January 16 pending further enquiries.
