BRENTWOOD Council will be handing out poppy seeds for people to grow as part of a project commemorating the First World War's start 100 years ago.
The authority has joined the scheme launched by the Royal British Legion, Bennett’s Funeral Directors and Beeches Care Home which will see the flowers now used as a symbol of remebrance sown around the borough.
Residents, community groups and organisations in Brentwood will be able to use the seeds during special sowing days.
Anyone interested in getting involved should contact councillor Will Russell on 07784 845593 or 01277 202800.
