A MAN accused of stalking glamour model-turned body builder Jodie Marsh faces trial.

Joseph Mafwenke, 38, is said to have bombarded her with love letters after seeing a story in a tabloid magazine where she told journalists she was looking for love.

He stands accused of repeatedly tracking down Miss Marsh, 34, between November 26, 2012, and September 28, 2013.

Mafwenke of Ilfield in West Sussex was arrested outside at her home in Brentwood in November last year.

He has now appeared in Basildon Crown Court.

During the brief hearing Mafwenke, dressed in a black t-shirt and jeans alongside his Swahili interpreter, spoke only to confirm his name and deny one count of stalking.

Judge John Lodge ordered a psychiatric assessment to be carried out on Mafwenke and he was remanded in custody - his trial is scheduled to be held between March 24 and April 11.

Meanwhile on the same day of the hearing, Marsh took to Twitter to quash rumours she had slept with former X Factor contestant Frankie Cocozza.

Last month the former Brentwood School student flatly denied having an intimate encounter with the 19-year-old.

Following a string of tweets between the pair which sparked a number of tabloid articles, Marsh spelt out her thoughts on Friday.

She tweeted to her 568,000 followers: “I did not do anything sexual with that little boy off X Factor. If anyone prints otherwise they will hear from my lawyers.”
