JEWELLERY worth thousands of pounds has been stolen from a Shenfield home.
Burglars broke into the property on Kilworth Avenue at some point between 3pm and 8.30pm on Thursday March 20.
After forcing their way into the house through the back door, the crooks stole the jewellery items along with a laptop.
The same house had been targeted by burglars eight days earlier but on this occasion left empty handed when the homeowner saw the intruders and chased them away.
Essex Police, who did not want to give the total value of the jewellery, are investigating the burglary and are interested to hear from witnesses.
Pc Jo Barnes said: βIt is believed that a vehicle was parked nearby, possibly in Holmwood Avenue and I would like to hear from anyone who remembers seeing anyone acting suspiciously in the area or has any other information.
βI would especially appeal to driving school instructors as it is known that they regularly use these roads.β
Anyone with information is urged to contact Pc Barnes or her colleagues at Brentwood CID on 101.
Alternatively, witnesses can contact Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555111.
