DOG kennels volunteers are urging for people to help save their centre after being slapped with a big legal bill - which must be payed tomorrow!

Wallace Kennels, in Chivers Road, Stondon Massey, could be forced to close after operating for more than 40 years because of a five figure sum they must pay after a former volunteer sued them.

The woman in her mid 40s was attacked by a dog while helping out at the venue in 2010.

The deadline for the settlement must be paid by the end of tomorrow, Friday April 25.

Dee Robinson, who runs the kennels, said it would terrible to close the premises which currently has 20 dogs being cared for there.

Mrs Robinson said: "If we were to close it would be utterly devastating.

"It is not the route we want to go down but there might not be much choice for us.

"So far we've raised more than £4,700 which is fantastic, but we do need more, so if you can spare some money please donate."

Anyone who wishes to donate to the kennels can do so via Paypal by emailing wkrescue@btinternet.com, writing a cheque out to Wallace Kennels or call the kennels on 01277 821032.
