A LANE was closed during today's morning rush hour on the A12 after powdered chemicals spilled on the road.
Firefighters were called out at 5.20am after receiving reports of the spillage on the London-bound carriageway near junction 13 for Ingatestone.
A third of a tonne of powered chemical had gone on the road which meant a lane had to be closed while the clear-up operation was done.
This caused delays along the A12 stretching back towards Chelmsford.
The lane remains closed at present.
