FORMER Towie star Amy Childs has launched a campaign against youngsters undergoing cosmetic surgery before the age of 21.
Amy, now 23, shot to fame in The Only Way Is Essex four years ago and has had several plastic surgery procedures, including breast implants put in - when she was just 18 - and lip fillers.
But the owner of Amy’s Boutique in Brentwood reportedly told one national newspaper she had made a “mistake” by becoming “addicted to cosmetic surgery”.
“I looked in the mirror and I thought ‘I have got to change and go back to how I was’, because I had become a freak, you know what I mean? I just got a little bit silly and made a mistake, like everyone makes mistakes,” Amy told the Daily Mail.
Now, the Barking-born business woman, who attended Raphael’s school before going on to the Brentwood Academy, believes the age limit for cosmetic surgery should be raised to 21.
Amy said: “The age limit should be raised to 21. I don’t want other young girls to make the mistakes I made. And I don’t want to look like a blow-up doll any more.
“I used to love a pout, but I grew to hate my Daffy Duck lips. I had so much filler in them, I ended up with a big lump.”
