PLANS for a multi-million pound development behind the Slug and Lettuce bar in Brentwood High Street are finally taking shape.
The proposals by MCC Developments, managed by Paul Mecklenburgh the dad of Towie star Lucy, have been in the pipeline for two years.
The former motorbike shop on the corner of Crown and Hart Street has now been demolished to prepare the site.
Permission for a three-storey block, complete with 14 flats and shops on the ground floor, were given the go-ahead in March last year.
Original plans were for a four-storey building including 17 flats, but these were rejected by Brentwood Borough Council in 2012.
The Weekly News contacted MCC and Mr Mecklenburgh but our calls weren’t returned.
