BRENTWOOD Council has reminded its residents of the different ways of accessing funding for community projects.

The Brentwood Community Fund enables individuals, groups and organizations to apply for up to £3,500 for projects that will improve the quality of life for local people, and tackle the issues that they think are important.

The deadline for applications is September 1. For more information go to www.brentwood.gov.uk/funding.

In what’s known as the ward budget, each ward councilor is given £1,000 to support projects and initiatives within their area. Those interested in this scheme can contact their ward councilor, who can be found at www.brentwood.gov.uk/councillors.

For those in the voluntary sector, there is the Grant Net, which offers alternative funding schemes. More information can be found at www.brentwood.gov.uk/funding.

Councillor Karen Chilvers, from the community committee, said: “These funds are an opportunity for local individuals, groups, and organisations to get the help they may need with their projects.

“We are committed to supporting local community initiatives that will enhance the quality of life for local people. As well as providing direct grants each year to local community groups and charities we offer easy access to various funding streams.”
