Up and coming American folk stars Larkin Poe recently played an “unforgettable” show at the Zinc Arts Centre as they warmed up for Glastonbury.

The duo, sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell from Atlanta, Georgia, along with their band, performed their blend of American roots, rock and soul music to a capacity crowd.

The show was the first on their Crown of fire UK tour, which saw them take on the world-famous Glastonbury Festival on Saturday, just hours after their show at the centre in Chipping Ongar.

The girls there took to the Avalon Stage alongside the likes of Newton Faulker and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

"To have Larkin Poe perform here ahead of Glastonbury was a fantastic opportunity," said Clare Willso, from the centre.

She added: "The atmosphere was absolutely amazing. Larkin Poe's music made it an unforgettable evening. We're so thrilled to work with Blue House Music to showcase such vibrant, talented musicians at our Arts Centre.”

The sisters were taken with the venue. Rebecca said: "Zinc Arts Centre is so beautiful.

“It’s fantastic that you have a place you can come and come together and have something like this because that’s our favourite part of playing, is that it brings people together and connecting.”
