BRAD Pitt fever swept through Billericay after the Hollywood megastar was spotted having a burger and pint in the High Street.

The Oscar winning producer and actor stopped off in the town’s Wimpy restaurant before heading across the road to the Red Lion pub.

His limousine pulled up outside Wimpy just before 8pm on Tuesday and along with his security team he headed inside for a burger and chips.

The store had run out of the Wimpy doughnuts he likes but staff have stocked up and are hoping he will make a return visit.

An employee, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed there were no other customers in at the time and added that this was Mr Pitt’s second trip to the store, after he originally visited while filming in East Hanningfield in 2011.

A spokesman for Marston’s Brewery, which runs the Red Lion, said: “It was a busy night, we’re delighted that he chose the Red Lion but can’t confirm what he had to drink.”

Last time Mr Pitt was spotted in Billericay he had been filming Word War Z at Essex and Suffolk Water’s Hanningfield treatment works.

He is not filming there this week and it is not yet clear why he was in the area this time.
