A charity which helps family carers across Brentwood has received a vital cash boost.

Crossroads Care, Brentwood, Basildon and Districts received the donation of £5,000 following a golf day held by Basildon company Sound Financial Planning Group.

Crossroads offers crucial respite services to people caring for loved ones at home, as well as running an after school club for children with physical and mental disabilities, a social club for young carers, and day care centres for dementia sufferers.

All of these offer crucial breaks for family carers and Crossroads Care Brentwood, Basildon & Districts is a “wonderful local charity”, according to Davis Ellis from Sound Financial Group.

Davis Ellis, from Sound, said: “This is our second Golf Day for Crossroads Care and we’re delighted to have raised even more than we did last year.”

Sound also donated a football signed by Manchester United which will be auctioned for fundraising in the coming weeks.
