PUPILS from Essex, including some from the Anglo European School in Ingatestone, are travelling to China take part in activities as part of attending the International Youth Olympic Games opening ceremony.
Ten pupils are making the 5,000 mile trip to Jiangsu Province, to get involved in the seventh Essex‐Jiangsu China Sports Summer Camp.
The camp, led by Essex County Council and the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, aims to further develop the existing school partnerships and sees each student paired up with a Chinese partner from three schools in the area.
The Sports Summer Camp exchange between the two counties started in 2008 during the Beijing Olympic Games, which then led to London Olympics in 2012.
The students will live with their Chinese student partners’ families from 14th- 24th August
