THE first stage of the public consultation on the future of William Hunter Way will go live from Monday.

An online questionnaire will go live on the Brentwood Council website and will be followed by a hard copy arriving through the letterboxes of residents in the borough later in the month alongside council publication Borough Bulletin.

The questionnaire is the first part of the process to help the council understand resident’s wants and needs at the site, which until earlier this year was set to become a cinema and centre for major brand retail outlets.

Councillor Russell Quirk, who chairs the Will Hunter Way working group, said: “We have always said that the future of William Hunter Way will be shaped by what our residents and businesses want. This public consultation isn’t a tick box exercise for us – it is as comprehensive and far reaching as we can make it so that there is no doubt that what we are doing is what Brentwood wants us to do.”
