SCHOOLS in Brentwood are looking for lollipop, less than a year after County Hall proposed scrapping the service.
Brentwood School, St Martin’s Secondary School and St Mary’s Church of England all have vacancies, which can be applied for by visiting www.workingforessex.com.
Essex County Council reversed the proposal in May after a public backlash over the plans. Now recruitment is happening all over the county.
Councillor Rodney Bass, in charge of highways and transportation, said: “School crossing patrol officers have a very special place in local communities and people who do the job find it very fulfilling."
The closing date for applications is Tuesday, October 7.
