THE founders of the Grove House school - a free school given the green light by the Government a fortnight ago - attended a reception attended by the Prime Minister.

Dr Sally Lockyer visited Lancaster House in London to represent Grove House School at a reception celebrating the success of free schools across the country.

They were joined by the Prime Minister, David Cameron and Secretary of State for Education, Nicky Morgan.

Of the 200 schools represented at the event on Monday, organised by education charity New Schools Network, Grove House School was one of only ten selected to meet the Prime Minister privately.

The Grove House School will be a specialist language, speech and communication school for nine to 19-year-olds. It will open in September 2015.

Its founders are currently in the process of securing a location for the new school.

The Weekly News revealed this week that Leverton Hall in Warley is one of  the buildings on a shortlist comprising locations in Brentwood and Chelmsford.
