A TEACHER turned author’s new book has been announced as the Reader’s Digest Book for December.

Bookworms, Dog-Ears & Squashy Big Armchairs: A Book Lover’s Alphabet is the latest work by Heather Reyes, of Cedar Road, Hutton.

And the entertaining, original and informative A-Z of everything you ever wanted to know about books, which is out today, will make a perfect stocking filler this Christmas.

“I’m not sure where Reader’s Digest picked it up from,” said Heather, 65, a former English teacher at the Ursuline School, in Brentwood.

“But I’m absolutely delighted, it’s really very nice.”

This is the latest of Heather’s books, published by the company which she set up with her husband Malcolm in 2008.

She edited the acclaimed City Pick series, and her other books include Zade and An Everywhere.

Heather added: “This one is a book for those book lovers among us.

“I had a great time working on it. It’s fun, but also informative. It’s a light-hearted book on the subject of books and reading.”
