PARENTS can enjoy a glass of mulled wine and children some candy floss at some of the festive events coming up in Brentwood over the coming weeks.

At Lighting Up Brentwood on Saturday, November 29, from, 12pm-6pm, visitors can browse jewellery stalls, handmade crafts, and even visit Santa at his grotto in the Sugar Hut on the High Street.

The Chicken and Frog bookshop to will see Santa’s elves make an appearance, and take part in the Santa Hunt competition, which will run until December 27.

The traditional candle-lit parade this year will include members of the local Women’s Institutes who are celebrating their centenary in 2015.

Participants will carry a centenary baton that is travelling across the region. Lighting Up Shenfield, the following day from 2pm-5pm, will also be packed with fun activities, including pony grooming and other small animals, rides, free face painting, Santa’s Grotto, and a human fruit machine.

Shenfield businesses will be pulling out all the stops to get visitors in the festive mood, with free glasses of mulled wine and food tasters, deals from local businesses, and great offers. Visitors can also enjoy a hog roast, cheese and preserves.
