Police have issued a new appeal for a man they want to speak to about an assault which took place in Springfield Road, in Chelmsford, close to Missoula on Thursday, December 11.

The victim, a 20-year-old man from Chelmsford, was punched in the face, following an argument with another man.

He suffered a fractured eye socket and needed hospital treatment for his injuries. The offence took place between 2.30am and 3am.

Investigating officer, Pc Karyn Daniels said: "The man in this picture has been identified as a possible suspect in this assault and we need to interview him urgently. We have received information to suggest he is from the Brentwood area but we do not know his name and I am keen to hear from anyone who can identify him. They can contact me at Chelmsford CID on 101. Alternatively I would urge the man to come forward and speak to us himself.”

Anyone with information can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or they can contact the charity through its anonymous online form at www. crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not have to go to court.
