THOUSANDS of people pulled on their trainers to take part in the 2015 Brentwood Half Marathon.
Crowds cheered on the runners as they pounded the pavements on Sunday, with many using the race as an opportunity to raise money for their favourite charities, such as team Running Mummas, pictured, who decided to raise money for Havens Hospices.
The charity's events fundraiser Jane Hopkins said, “We Had 51 ‘Team Havens’ runners on the day and we hope to raise £10,000 for Little Havens Hospice.
"At Little Havens we help by controlling pain and medication, offering respite and caring for babies, children and teenagers at the end of their lives.
"Our specialist care is free – for as long as is needed – within the family home and at our hospice. We’re a registered charity – not part of the NHS – and receive limited government funding.
"Our hospice can only exist because of the support and generosity of the community and those who take part in events and challenges, like the Brentwood Half Marathon.
"Together, we’re making every day count."
