Hopefield Animal Sanctuary staff took part in a bag packing day during the opening of the new B&M store in Brentwood.
The B&M bargains store opened on Saturday in the former Co-Op site in the Baytree Shopping Centre and has created 40 jobs.
Hopefield staff were able to use the opportunity to raise vital funds for the sanctuary and also cut the ribbon to officially open the store.
The charity was nominated by the store colleagues themselves and will receive £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for opening the store.
Lianne Angliss from Hopefield Animal Sanctuary said: “We are delighted to be a part of the opening and are grateful for their support and generous donation to the sanctuary.”
Ian Ibrahim, Store Manager at B&M Brentwood said: “B&M is committed to recruiting from the local area and I am delighted we’ve found a great team from in and around Brentwood.
"We’re really proud to be creating 40 jobs across the town this year and playing our part in the local community.
“We are excited to get the doors open on Saturday 25th April and honoured to have representatives from Hopefield Animal Sanctuary cutting the ribbon to officially mark the opening of our new store.”
