MUSICAL legends and stars from the X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent are set to rock the stage at this year’s Brentwood Festival.

The Human League, known for their No.1 hit track Don’t You Want Me, are just one of the acts playing in the festival, which runs from July 17 to 19 at the Brentwood Centre.

Soul singer Jocelyn Brown will be joining the headliners Human League on the Sunday, with songs including Somebody Else’s Guy and The Power, and Cockney Rebels Steve Harley will also be performing.

X Factor contestant Rebecca Ferguson and Britain’s Got Talent performers Jack Pack bring a modern twist to Saturday’s line-up.

The festival will open on Friday, July 17, with an 80s Roll Back party, headlined by R&B/soul singer Alexander O’Neal, who will be supported by DJs playing club classics.

The second stage at the festival features musicians from the region performing an eclectic mix of rock, Americana, blues, jazz, folk, and pop songs.

Festival organiser, Jason Jopson, said: “We’re always trying to surpass ourselves with each year the festival runs, and we are pleased to get top names like The Human League and Rebecca Ferguson on our line up.

“This year’s event is shaping up to be our biggest and best festival yet.

“The event keeps growing and getting better thanks to great support from our festival goers.

"We listen carefully to their feedback to make we’re moving the festival in the right direction and giving the crowd what they want.”

Festival co-ordinator, Laurie Edmonds, added:“We’ve got a few more international headliners to announce in the next few weeks, so watch this space.

"We’re very excited to have Alexander O’Neal return on the 17th.

"Last year his set was cut short by a few songs when a freak electrical storm passed overhead.

"It’ll be great to have him back and recreate the fantastic party atmosphere we had last year on the Friday night.”

Overnight camping and a VIP tent, luxury toilets with hair dryers and straighteners, plus street food and refreshments from the Brentwood Brewing Company, will also be on offer.

Adult tickets are available from £25, youth tickets £10 and children under ten can attend for free.
