A man has been charged with two counts of possessing a knife in a public place following an incident in Elizabeth Road, Brentwood.
Police attended Elizabeth Road at just after 11.30pm on Sunday, May 3, following reports from a member of the public that they had seen a man acting strangely in the street with a knife.
Armed officers attended and arrested a man.
They also found a claw hammer and a pair of scissors.
Colin Mcivor, 38, unemployed of Elizabeth Road, Brentwood, has been charged with two counts of possessing a knife/blade in a public place.
He has been bailed to appear before Basildon Magistrates Court on Friday, May 22.
