A driver remains critically ill in hospital after an incident on the M25 near Brentwood.
Police were called after a silver Vauxhall Astra car failed to stop after a collision with another car on the clockwise carriageway at about 10.30pm on Tuesday May 12.
The Astra later stopped after colliding with a roadside barrier on a slip road on to the A127 at Junction 29.
The driver, who is in his 50s and from south London, is believed to have been taken ill while driving. He was taken to Basildon Hospital.
Officers at Chigwell road policing office are investigating and want to hear from any witnesses who saw the collision or anyone with information about any earlier incidents involving the Astra.
