St. Nicholas’ Church will, once again, be hosting a “Brass on the Grass” event.

The fun event will be held on Saturday, July 19, at the Rectory Garden, Church Road, Kelvedon Hatch.

The music of “Fairlop Brass” commences at 7.30 pm, with gates opening at 7pm.

This will be the sixth occasion upon which this annual event takes place, with Fairlop Brass taking over responsibility for the music in 2012.

Fairlop Brass is an award winning band with an excellent concert reputation. During 2014, just after the Brass on the Grass event the band was embarking on a tour of Barcelona, the fourth European Tour the Band has made.

Founded in 1968 the Band has only had two Musical Directors, Dennis Carney (1970 – 1983) and Kevin Jordan (1984 – present).

The band has won many, many awards, both national and local, as well as recording 3 CD’s, one of which was played on the NASA Space Station, and is looking forward to presenting a concert of popular and well known music.

St Nicholas’ Church, in Kelvedon Hatch, holds a number of fund raising events during the year, some of which are for outside charities.

On this occasion the profits will help the church with its work.

Those interested in attending this event are invited to bring their own picnic and garden chairs, whilst there will be strawberries and cream for sale and the opportunity to purchase soft and alcoholic drinks from a licensed drinks tent.

Advance tickets are priced at £8 adults and £4 children and can be obtained by phoning Chris Jardine on 01277 373816 or e-mailing st.nicholas.event@btinternet.com

Otherwise, subject to availability, tickets can be purchased on the gate at £9 and £4 respectively.

In the event of poor weather, advance ticket holders will be able to listen “concert style” in the adjacent church.
