In our modern world, strong language skills are crucial to success in order to maximise potential.

It is estimated that about 30 per cent  of children find reading and writing difficult, despite good teaching and additional support.

In many cases this is labelled as dyslexia, however dyslexia is just one of many barriers to learning which hinders progress and seriously affects self-esteem.

Such barriers to learning do not usually reflect cognitive abilities and may not be typical of performance in other areas.

Many families struggle to find help tackling these issues; however the unique approach delivered by Cellfield has successfully helped many people overcome dyslexia and similar processing issues.

In many cases the programme proves to be life changing due to the positive impact it has on self belief and confidence.

Cellfield is based on brain imaging research which has shown that poor readers have fewer reading brain circuits and in the wrong places and this makes reading hard work and too slow for good comprehension to develop.

The programme targets the areas in the brain used by good readers and, after just two weeks of treatment, average gains in reading age of about 2 years can be achieved.

Cellfield is being delivered in Essex by husband and wife teacher team, Schalk and Jana Meyer who also runs the successful Kip McGrath Education Centre in Shenfield.

Over the past 10 years Schalk and Jana and their team of dedicated teachers have been helping thousands of children from Brentwood and surrounding areas to succeed in Maths and English.

They have seen many children coming on leaps and bounds but was concerned with some children not making the desired progress even with individual coaching.

These children clearly fell into the 30 per cent group.

Determined to find a solution and looking at many different ways to help this group of children and adults they came upon the Cellfield programme with its very impressive track record.

Having run a few Cellfield courses at their impressive centre in Shenfield, they are very excited with the results of 1-3 year in reading and/or comprehension age the children make.
