TWO lanes on the anti-clockwise M25 between junction 29 (Upminster) and 28 (Brentwood) will be closed for the rest of today following an earlier road traffic collision.

Emergency resurfacing will take place overnight with three of four lanes closed from 10.30pm. The work is required due to a large diesel spillage which has made the carriageway surface unsafe.

The carriageway is not expected to reopen fully until at least 5.30am.

Drivers on this section of the M25 are advised to allow extra time for their journey or find an alternative route. Long-distance traffic heading from the Port of Dover or Eurotunnel may wish to consider travelling on the clockwise M25.
