ITV will be dropping in on South Essex talent sessions this month to find the star's of next year's the Voice show - and Thurrock has been picked as one of their "places to watch."

Scouts from the all-new primetime tv talent show, which was recently announced to be moving from BBC to ITV, have singled out Thames Delta nights over the next two months for special attention.

Thurrock was picked as one of their 'places to watch' after Voice finalist Jordan Gray informed the show's team they needed "to source the wealth of talent hiding away in South Essex."

ITV will air the all-new The Voice in 2017 and they are scanning the country to pick their stars now.

Dorion Quest of Thames Delta Music, who helps organise the nights said: "ITV's the Voice are very excited to be able to use Thames Delta's vast network of acts from the South Essex area.

“I was contacted by ITV to ask if it's ok for their talent scouts to attend Thames Delta events to source acts for their 2017 show that's moving from BBC to ITV."

"We have agreed for them to scout new talent for their show at our events, they have informed us that they will be attending our sessions through the end of April and May 2016."

Mr Quest added: "The scouts are likely to be attending events at the Ship in Grays, Thurrock, the Alex in Southend-on-Sea and the Spread Eagle in Brentwood."
