THEATRE fans can look forward to a packed schedule of shows on the Brentwood stage this month.

The Brentwood Theatre has a range of shows to look forward to in May, with loud and proud live music and drama.

From tonight until Saturday, May 14, Steve Gooch’s Female Transport will be performed by the New Venture Players at 8pm.

The hard-hitting drama, which presents the story of six 19th Century female criminals being transported to Australia, will keep you on the edge of your seat, although theatre-goers are warned the show is considered unsuitable for under 18s due to strong language and violent scenes.

One Sunday, the theatre experiences a lighter note, as the Barry Manilow Songbook is performed by Jack Productions at 3pm and 8pm.

There is more drama on Tuesday, May 17 as the Horizons Performance Company take on the gruelling 1933 play Blood Wedding by Federico Garcia Lorca at 8pm.

But then the Divine Dusty – The Dusty Springfield Songbook will be brought to life by Jack Productions on Friday, May 20.

Ticket prices vary from £8 to £15. Visit brentwood-theatre.co.uk to book and for more details.
