A disabled little girl has the chance to learn how to walk thanks to a generous donation.

Hannah Davis, 10, from Chelmsford suffers with Cerebral Palsy and last year underwent a SDR operation to help improve her movement.

She now requires intensive physiotherapy to maintain her progress.

But, despite the positive impact this could have on the youngster's life, the treatment, which costs about £1,200 each month, is not available on the NHS.

Chelmsford housebuilder Persimmon Homes has stepped in with a £1,000 donation to help the family with the cost of Hannah's on-going treatment as part of it's Community Champions scheme.

Mandy Davis, Hannah’s mum, said: “The operation was very successful but now Hannah needs the physio to ensure she continues to make progress and doesn’t go backwards.

“It helps her to walk that bit further and she is getting stronger with each session.

“It’s hard work raising the money to pay for the treatment so we are extremely grateful to Persimmon Homes for this generous donation.

"It means a lot to us.”

Kim Oates, head of sales for Persimmon Homes Essex, added: “We’re delighted to be able to make this donation to help with Hannah’s physio.

“The Community Champions scheme gives us the opportunity to support good causes every single month.

"We have already donated over £25,000 and we’ve committed to supporting more charities and community groups for another 12 months."
