A man has died after being hit by a train at Witham Train Station.
The man was struck by the train at 10.20am and his death is not being treated as suspicious.
Abellio Greater Anglia suspended train services between Shenfield and Colchester during the incident, which affected services between Liverpool Street and Braintree, Colchester, Colchester Town, Clacton-on-Sea, Ipswich and Norwich.
All lines have now reopened.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “We have been called to Witham station after receiving reports at 10.20am of a person struck by a train.
“BTP officers and colleagues from the East of England Ambulance Service attended and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers are currently working to identify the man and inform his family.
“The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "We currently have a rapid response vehicle, and ambulance officer and a hazardous area response team at the scene."
