There’s going to be a disco after the Simply Red Concert in Chelmsford for people who like to have a little dance.

Simply Red fans will be able to party all night as Sugar Hut launches it’s first-ever “pop-up” Chelmsford nightclub.

POP band legends Simply Red are performing at the racecourse this summer on July 1 as just one of a handful of live performances for the band's 30-year anniversary tour.

Now fans of Simply Red will be able to attend a special VIP after-party at the Simply Red concert at Chelmsford Racecourse.

The club have refused to confirm if Mr Hucknall will also be attending the after-party, but they didn’t rule it out.

Sugar Hut was so inspired by the Simply Red concert, the club said it was the “right time” to launch the pop-up club to a wider market.

Sugar Hut co-owner Terry Pullen, said: “This is a huge event as this is the first time ever Simply Red have performed in Essex and we’re really excited to be working with Britain’s newest racecourse.”

Jill Turner, Commercial Manager at Chelmsford City Racecourse said: “We are delighted to be working with the Sugar Hut to bring an amazing opportunity to our guests.

“Once the racing and concert has finished people can stay on and continue to enjoy their evening into the small hours of the morning!”

Lead singer Mick Hucknall has already said it will be the “first time” the band has ever played in Essex.

He said: “As far as I can remember, this will be our first time as a band playing in Essex.

“Up to this point, people have usually had to travel into London to come to the shows so I’m looking forward to getting over to Chelmsford and playing for them all there.”

He added: “It’s also a great change of scenery to be playing at a beautiful cricket ground or at a racecourse as we will be this year.”

Simply Red have sold 60 million records worldwide, including hits such as Stars, Fairground, Something Got Me Started and Holding Back The Years.

Aruond 300 VIP ticket holders will be able to join the pop-up club for an exclusive ‘Sugar Hut Experience’ after the Simply Red concert with a host of DJs and live music.

Tickets to the “Sugar Hut Experience” cannot be purchased independently of the concert and are on sale at www.chelmsfordcityracecourse.com
