A FOOTBALL match between a recruitment firm and a team of police officers raised more than £500 for charity.

The game, held at Brentwood Town FC, saw staff from Athona Recruitment, which is based on Warley Hill Business Park, take on Chelmsford police team LPA South.

The event was in aid of Medicins Sans Frontieres, which provides medical aid in war-torn areas and developing countries facing endemic diseases.

Stewart London, Managing Director for Athona, whose team won the match 4-0, said: “Our annual football match is a great way for us to support our chosen charity. This year’s match definitely didn’t disappoint.”
