FIREFIGHTERS raced to Witham to put out three sheds which were on fire.
Crews received the call at 4.35pm to attend the scene in Halfacres, Witham.
Upon arrival crews found that three sheds were on fire and two other properties were heavily smoke logged.
A team from Witham and a team from Chelmsford attended the incident and had the fire under control by 5.02pm.
A spokesman for Essex County Fire and Rescue said: “On arrival at the incident scene, the three outbuildings were 100% on fire and two nearby properties were heavily smoke logged.
“Two hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire by 5.02pm. A ventilation fan was used to clear two homes of smoke.
“Crews remain at the incident scene where they are carrying out further safety checks.”
