OFFICERS from Brentwood and Essex County Council who reviewed Ongar Road have highlighted two accident hot-spots.
The review drew attention to the junction with Costead Manor Road and the junction with Doddinghurst Road.
Safety improvements were approved at a recent highways meeting. They are that existing zebra crossings at both junctions will get new, high-tech flashing beacons. At the Costead Manor Road junction there will be new direction signs, refreshed road markings, new give way signs, and an anti-skid surface.
At the Doddinghurst junction, the plan includes new give way signs, cutting back foliage, repositioning direction signs, building up the dividing island and putting in a keep left bollard.
