A HIGH school was celebrating the success of two different sets of students who have taken part in competitions.
Brentwood County High School, on Shenfield Common, had lots to be pleased with after its cheerleading and junior youth speaks teams performed well.
The cheerleading group won the annual Brentwood Schools Cheerleading competition with a routine which the squad – Ashleigh Hunt, Emily Kneller, Maddii Hudson, Clare Richardson, Shannon Plormel, Ebony Walsh, Kirsty Ellis, Chantelle Halford and Codi Palmer – have been preparing since September.
Meanwhile, the youth speaks team came second at the Rotary Youth Speaks competition in both the senior and youth categories.
Pupil Jacob Crux was also given the award for best speaker for the senior event with both teams moving on to the area finals taking place at Brentwood Town Hall.
Carol Mason, the school’s headteacher, said she was very proud of both teams’ achievements.
