Thumbs up for cafe culture in Shenfield

A BAR and restaurant has been given permission to use an outdoor seating area.
Members of Brentwood Council's planning committee have given permission for Lot 73 and Lot 75 in Hutton Road Shenfield to use the area of pavement outside the two premises between 8am and 9.30pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 9.30pm on Sundays, with all tables cleared away by 10pm.
The application had been recommended for refusal by council officers as they said the permission would also enable more tables to be used outside which could lead to an increase in noise from drinkers.
But councillors did not agree.
