TOWIE hotel plan suffers new blow

A REALITY TV star’s plans to revamp an empty hotel could have been dealt a fatal blow.

The Only Way is Essex star Mick Norcross wants to refurbish the Grand Hotel, in Leigh, which has been empty since it closed in December 2008.

However, his proposal to transform the building into a boutique hotel and spa has repeatedly stalled and been resurrected since it first emerged last year.

The idea, from the owner of Brentwood’s Sugar Hut, may now be dead in the water, after planning officers at Southend Council refused to support its latest incarnation.

The plans are due to be discussed again at the council’s development control meeting in August.

Well done Southend council for having a backbone and saying No to this character, repeatedly. Us unfortunate souls in Brentwood, sadly have a council that only has one reply to his requests, "how high?". Of course suspicions of impartiality from Brentwood residents are not helped by the fact the guy is invited to civic functions, plus the amount of sucking up to him by a number of councilors on social media is sickening and i'm sure if Brentwood council had anything to do with it, he would be asked to attend the opening of an envelope!
